Daniel and I talked a lot about not "magnitizing" John to dogs. Well, he seems to have done it on his own. He STARES at Brass whenever he sees her and will look for her--especially if you say "Where is Brass?" We don't let them interact much, but she doesn't seem to mind him. He will say several variations of "eh! eh!" to her.

I did test Brass out on someone else's kid (kidding!). This is Brass and Emma when John was two weeks old. Brass is very tolerant, even seemed to enjoy the attention!
